PERKINS, Mo. -- William Leroy Jackson, 80, of Perkins died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2001, at Chaffee Nursing Center in Chaffee, Mo.
He was born May 19, 1920, at Poe, Mo., son of Walter Cleavland and Clara Mae Myers Jackson. He first married Anna Mae Kelly, who preceded him in death. He later married Retta Beard, who preceded him in death.
Jackson was a retired, self-employed construction worker.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include four sons, Robert Jackson of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Jimmy Jackson of Vine Grove, Ky., William Jackson of Denver, Colo., Larry Jackson, address unknown; two daughters, Suzie Caltrane of Tennessee, Patricia Jackson, address unknown; three sisters, Leatrice Barks of Advance, Mo., Veda Boley and Maggie Lancaster of Chaffee; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, three brothers, and two sisters.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee after 5 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Rev. Leroy Quinn officiating. Burial will be in Williams Cemetery.
