MOUNDS, Ill. -- William L. "Bill" Hurst, 70, of Mounds died Thursday, April 24, 2003, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
He was born Aug. 29, 1932. He married the former Mary Hubbard.
Hurst was a janitor and maintenance worker at Smiles Senior Citizen Center the past seven years, and was dogcatcher for the city of Mounds. He was a former grave digger at Spencer Heights and Beechwood cemeteries.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Richard Jenkins of Blodgett, Mo.; two daughters, Brenda Thompson of Olive Branch, Ill., Debbie Williams of Tamms, Ill.; and two granddaughters.
Friends may call at Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge, Ill., from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. F. Jerry Herring officiating. Burial will be in Spencer Heights Cemetery.
