William Howard
PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- William L. "Bill" Howard, 80, of Perryville died Saturday, March 7, 2009, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born May 17, 1928, in Ste. Genevieve, Mo, son of the late John Wesley and Norma Jenkins Howard. He and Wanda M. Fenwick were married Dec. 1, 1956, for 52 years. She survives in Perryville.
Howard retired after 43 years as a maintenance welder for Mississippi Lime Co. in Ste. Genevieve. He was a member of Christ the Savior Catholic Church in Brewer, a Navy veteran and former local president for 20 years of the United Aluminum, Brick & Glass Workers Union AFL-CIO at Mississippi Lime Co.
Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Kossmann of Katy, Texas, Janine Howard of St. Louis; three sisters; Flossie Hager of California, Loretta Masters of Marble Hill, Mo., Verna Lawrence of Perryville; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville. A parish wake will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday.
The funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, with the Rev. Milton Ryan officiating.
Burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery with military graveside services provided by American Legion Post 133.
