SIKESTON -- William L. Holland, 93, of Miner Nursing Center died Sunday, Aug. 1, 1999, at Missouri Delta Medical Center. He was born Sept. 25, 1905, at Steele, son of James Franklin and Annie Lee Patterson Holland. He and Irene Newton were married in 1927. She died Dec. 1, 1980. He later married Susie Yant Ray Feb. 3, 1982. She died Feb. 10, 1990...

SIKESTON -- William L. Holland, 93, of Miner Nursing Center died Sunday, Aug. 1, 1999, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

He was born Sept. 25, 1905, at Steele, son of James Franklin and Annie Lee Patterson Holland. He and Irene Newton were married in 1927. She died Dec. 1, 1980. He later married Susie Yant Ray Feb. 3, 1982. She died Feb. 10, 1990.

Holland was a retired farmer, and a member of Illinois Avenue General Baptist Church.

Survivors include three stepsons, Darrell and Jim Ray of Sikeston, Joe Ray of Lawrence, Kan.; a stepdaughter, Anita Jones of Sikeston; and seven stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel. The Rev. Ronnie Ledbetter will officiate. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
