William Lee "Bill" Hodges Jr., 54, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, April 8, 2013, at his home.
He was born May 21, 1958, in Long Beach, Calif. He and Theresa Moore were married Dec. 26, 1979. She preceded him in death Oct. 28, 2010.
Bill loved barbecuing with his family and friends. He enjoyed training his bloodhound Dutchess for search and rescue, playing guitar and working on his house. He was a member of Little Egypt Search and Rescue.
He served his country in the United States Army.
Bill was a dedicated prosthetist who cared deeply for his patients at Bluff Prosthetic and Orthotics.
He is survived by two daughters, Kristina Hodges of Denver and Julie Hodges of Boston; two sons, Horace "Hoss" and Lee Hodges of Cape Girardeau; three grandchildren, Odyss and Charlie Morgan of Boston and Scarlett Reece of Denver; his companion, Kim Davidson of Cape Girardeau; parents, William and Lani Hodges of Long Beach; three sisters, Cathy, Debbie and Carrie; nieces; nephews; other relatives; and many friends, including his faithful bloodhound Dutchess.
He also was preceded in death by his bloodhound Muska.
A casual memorial gathering and barbecue for friends and family to honor Bill will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Dennis Scivally Park.
