POPLAR BLUFF -- Graveside service for William O. Garrison of Poplar Bluff will be held at 1 p.m. today at Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.
Morgan Funeral Home in Advance is in charge of arrangements.
Garrison, 86, died Sunday, April 2, 2000, at Westwood Hills Health Care Center in Poplar Bluff.
He was born May 7, 1913, at Swinton, son of Lawrence and Melvina Simmons Garrison. He and Eula Proffer were married in 1935. She died Sept. 15, 1976. He later married Corinne Proffer in 1981.
Garrison was a retired insurance agent. He was a member of American Legion Post 21 in Jonesboro, Ark. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a son, William Garrison of Jonesboro; a stepdaughter, Sondra Ross of Poplar Bluff; a brother, Raymond Garrison of Jensen Beach, Fla.; two sisters, Iva Bridges of St. Louis, Juanita McEntire of Lemay; two granddaughters; two stepgrandsons; and a great-stepgrandchild.
He was preceded in death by a son.
