ANNA, Ill. -- William Andrew "Bill" Full, 89, of Macon, Ga., formerly of Anna and Cairo, Ill., died Friday, Jan. 21, 2005, at Portsbridge Hospice in Macon.
He was born Oct. 18, 1915, at America, Ill., son of Arthur Bascom and Henrietta Shumaker Full. He and LaWanda Tally were married May 14, 1938.
He was a World War II veteran, serving in the European theater. He was a recipient of the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Army Good Conduct Medal, EAME Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Army of Occupation Medal, the French Croix de Guerre medal and the Combat Infantryman badge.
Full was retired from Cairo Water Works, where he was an engineer for 19 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Anna and of the Cairo VFW.
Survivors include his wife, LaWanda Full; two daughters, Alice Upshaw of Macon, Mildred Haggerty of Wilmette, Ill.; two sons, Bill Full of Belleville, Ill., Donald Full of Greenview, Ill.; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, and Wednesday morning until time of service at Crain Funeral Home in Anna.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Rev. Larry Shacklee officiating. Burial will be in Anna Cemetery with military honors by Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455
