MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- William Edmund Freiheit, 83, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Marble Hill, died Thursday, July 11, 2019, at Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.
Born June 30, 1936, in Meriden, Connecticut, he was the son of Edmund and Bertha Witzka Freiheit. He married Ann Cory on June 15, 1960. She preceded him in death May 31, 2014. Together they worked for 28 years as missionaries for Child Evangelism Fellowship. He served in Micronesia and Guam and on many missions in the United States.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include two sons, Paul Freiheit of Fredericktown, Missouri, and Mark Freiheit of Glen Allen, Missouri; two daughters, Ruth Freiheit of Glen Allen and Julie Penner of Louisville, Kentucky; brother, Edward Freiheit of Meriden; 11 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ray Meek officiating.
Burial will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield.
