William Clifford "Butch" Dalton, 62, of Gordonville died Friday, July 8, 2011, at Saint Francis Medical Center.

He was born Oct. 19, 1948, in Cape Girardeau to Clifford A. and Imogene Dickison Bollinger.

He graduated from Central High School and from Southeast Missouri State University with a bachelor's degree in agriculture and forestry.

Mr. Dalton was owner and operator of an automotive shop and was a truck driver for Eagle Excavating and Trucking in Gordonville.

"Butch" was an avid outdoorsman and a benefactor member of the NRA. He was a volunteer fireman for the Gordonville Fire Department.

He was a member of Hanover Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau and Teamsters Local 600 in Maryland Heights, Mo.

Survivors include two daughters, Casey M. (Rodney) Brown of Jackson and Kelly D. (Jason) Kniess of Patterson, Mo., three grandchildren, Callie R. Brown, William Alex Brown and Wyatt C. Kniess; his mother and stepfather, Imogene D. and Loyd Bollinger of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Wynn (Linda) Bollinger of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Hope (Jim) Essner of Kelso, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father and a grandson, Caleb W. Brown, on Oct. 4, 2002.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Tony Kobak officiating. Burial will be in Morgan Memorial Park Cemetery at Advance, Mo.

Memorial contributions may be given to Hanover Lutheran Church or the donor's choice.
