William O. Cord, 84, of Rohnert Park, Calif., died Saturday, July 16, 2005, in Santa Rosa, Calif.
He was born and raised in St. Louis.
Cord received a Ph.D. at the University of Colorado at Boulder. He moved to Sonoma County in 1963, and was dean of humanities and a professor of Spanish at Sonoma State University 40 years.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie; a daughter, Kimberly Cord of Reno, Nev.; a son, Christian Cord of Fort Worth, Texas; and a brother, Robert Cord of Fruitland.
Service will be private.
Pleasant Hills Memorial Park and Mortuary in Sebastopol, Calif., is in charge of arrangements.
