ANNA, Ill. -- William Michael Coleman Jr., 60, of Anna died Saturday, Jan. 4, 2004, from injuries received from falling off a ladder.
He was born July 25, 1943, in Chicago, son of William and Helen Coleman. He and Valrey Lyerla were married April 4, 1970, in Kankakee, Ill.
Coleman received a bachelor's degree from Southern Illinois University.
For the past two years he was a window salesman and kitchen designer at Station West Floor to Ceiling in Cape Girardeau, and as a second job installed windows.
He taught science and industrial arts at Shawnee High School two years, and was manager of Associated Lumber 23 years.
Coleman was past president of Anna Kiwanis Club and active in many of its civic projects, and was a former member of Illinois Lumberman's Association.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Joshua Coleman of Cobden, Ill.; four daughters, Bethany, Amanda and Rosie Coleman of Anna, Shanda Cooley of Carbondale, Ill.; five brothers, Larry Coleman of Kankakee, Neil Coleman of Buncombe, Ill., Jim Coleman of Cary, N.C., Jerry Coleman of Ormond Beach, Fla., John Coleman of North Chicago; two sisters, Mary Coleman of Anna, Laura Noeth of Memphis, Tenn.; and three grandchildren.
Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna from 6 to 8 p.m. today. A wake will be held at 8.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Anna. The Rev. Federico Higuera and deacon Pat Patterson will officiate. Burial will be in Anna City Cemetery.
