McCLURE, Ill. -- William Carl Cease, 69, of McClure died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2011, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Feb. 19, 1942, in Fort Monmouth, N.J., to Carl and Genevieve Stillwell Cease Sr. He married Frances McMullin on Nov. 1, 2000.

William proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force.

He attended House of Hope in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include his wife, Frances, of McClure; a son, Michael (Amber) Cease of Jaco City, Ill.; a daughter, Michelle Surratt of West Frankfort, Ill.; three stepdaughters, Susan Haselbusch of Scott City, Carrie (Leonard) Lowes of Cape Girardeau and Debbie Hunt of McClure; a stepson, Roger (Jessica) Haselbusch of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Dawn Blume of Kansas; two brothers, Carl (Lonnie) Cease of Nebraska, Larry (Cheryl) Cease of Kansas; 19 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, William Earl Cease; and an infant child.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to service time Monday at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms, Ill.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with Blake Tiemann officiating. Interment will be in Provo Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family and will be accepted at the funeral home.
