ANNA, Ill. -- William D. "Bill" Cash, 69, of Anna, died Sunday, May 5, 1996, at Union County Hospital.
He was born Jan. 10, 1927, in Nashville, son of William D. and Laverne Opie Cash. He and Carolyn Travelstead were married March 15, 1947, at Marion.
Cash was a utilityman with Central Illinois Public Service Co., retiring in 1989. He was a member of First Baptist Church and had been chairman of the ushers since 1970, and member of IBEW Local 702 in West Frankfort. He served in the U.S. Army and the Army Air Corps during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Cindy Magaletta of St. Louis; a son, William Cash of Jonesboro; three grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter.
Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home from 6-9 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Larry Shacklee officiating. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Marion.
