William Morse Bryan, 74, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, May 12, 2000, at his home.
He was born Sept. 24, 1925, in Bridgeport, Conn., son of Elias William and Lucille Hawkins Bryan. He and Jessie Jo Harvey were married Nov. 5, 1944, in Macon, Ga.
Bryan was a lifelong resident of Cape Girardeau, graduate of Central High School and Port Arthur Radio School.
He started KGMO Radio Station in Cape Girardeau, KTOB in Newton, Iowa; WDEH in Sweetwater, Texas; and Tiger Radio in Columbia.
Bryan was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Elks Lodge and Eagles Aerie.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Robert Fisher of Cape Girardeau; four grandchildren, Allen R. Bryan, Joel Nicole Bryan, Michele L. Bryan and Michael Bryan Raymond, all of Cape Girardeau.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Scott Bryan.
There is no visitation.
A public service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Lorimier Cemetery Mausoleum.
