William Monroe "Bill" Borneman Jr., 65, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Delta, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012. He was born Oct. 18, 1946, at Delta, to the late William M. and Novella Slinkard Borneman Sr. He and Emma Hefner were married June 19, 1964. They had a daughter and three sons. He and Theresa "Terry" Harris of Cape Girardeau were married June 2, 1984...

William Monroe "Bill" Borneman Jr., 65, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Delta, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012.

He was born Oct. 18, 1946, at Delta, to the late William M. and Novella Slinkard Borneman Sr. He and Emma Hefner were married June 19, 1964. They had a daughter and three sons. He and Theresa "Terry" Harris of Cape Girardeau were married June 2, 1984.

Bill was a graduate of Delta High School. After graduation he worked at Fisher Body in St. Louis. He came back to Delta and joined the Labor union in 1968. Bill retired in 2004 as business manager and secretary/treasurer of Laborers Local 1104. He was a member of Cape Girardeau Elks Lodge 639, Cape Girardeau VFW Post 3838 and a dedicated member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 3775.

He was an avid card player, enjoyed card tournaments, traveling, and especially treasured his trips to Gulf Shores, Ala., with his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Terry; a daughter, Cindy (A.J.) Kelley; three sons, Tim (Teresa), Denny (Michaela) and Danny (fiancee Tracy Crowden), all of Delta; six grandchildren, Trevor Kelley, Megan, Lydia, Katelyn Borneman of Delta, Lance Borneman of Jackson and Kyle Borneman of San Diego; his mother, Novella Borneman Howell of Chaffee, Mo.; a sister, Karen (Bill) O'Connor of St. Charles, Mo.; and a brother, Guy (Regina) Borneman of Delta.

Also several nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; three stepchildren, Lisa Morton, Kim (Art) Harris and Lesley (Jamie) Sissom; seven stepgrandchildren; and two great-stepgrandchildren.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. Thursday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. The Eagles will have a memorial service at 7 p.m. at the chapel.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the chapel, with the Rev. Eric Hodge officiating. Burial will be in McGuire Cemetery near Burfordville.
