William "Bill" Felty Sr., 71, of Jackson passed away Saturday, Dec. 10, 2005 at his home. He was born June 11, 1934, near Millersville, son of Webster and Olive Summers Felty. He and Genece Sawyer were married Aug. 25, 1955. She survives. Bill was a lifelong member of Fairview United Methodist Church near Millersville. ...

William "Bill" Felty Sr., 71, of Jackson passed away Saturday, Dec. 10, 2005 at his home.

He was born June 11, 1934, near Millersville, son of Webster and Olive Summers Felty. He and Genece Sawyer were married Aug. 25, 1955. She survives.

Bill was a lifelong member of Fairview United Methodist Church near Millersville. He was a former Sunday school teacher, local lay minister leader and was a past president of the Fairview Memorial Cemetery Board. He had served as lay pastor of the Scopus United Methodist Church for 17 years, retiring in 2000. From 1953 to 1996, Bill worked at the former Florsheim Shoe Company in Cape Girardeau. He was a registered representative for ICH for over 20 years, a former member and past president of the Jackson Lions Club and a former zone manager of District 26D for the Missouri State Lions Organization.

Loving survivors include his wife, Genece, of over 50 years; two sons and daughters-in-law, William and Ella Felty Jr. of O'Fallon, Mo. and Richard and Joyce Felty of Jackson; two grandsons, Daniel Felty of Columbia, Mo. and Ricky Felty of Jackson; and one sister and brother-in-law, Judith and John Buehler of Oak Ridge. Bill was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Bill Ross officiating and Rev. Jerry Willer assisting. Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Cemetery near Millersville.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Fairview Memorial Cemetery.
