CHAFFEE, Mo. -- William Franklin Baker, 88, of Chaffee passed away Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012, at the Chaffee Nursing Center. He was born March 28, 1924, in Himmel, Mo., to the late John William and Gladys Dora Lingle Baker. William married Mary Louella Randles on Sept. 11, 1945, and she preceded him in death April 1, 2006...

CHAFFEE, Mo. -- William Franklin Baker, 88, of Chaffee passed away Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012, at the Chaffee Nursing Center.

He was born March 28, 1924, in Himmel, Mo., to the late John William and Gladys Dora Lingle Baker.

William married Mary Louella Randles on Sept. 11, 1945, and she preceded him in death April 1, 2006.

He retired as a machine operator at Florsheim Shoe Factory in Chaffee. He was a member of the Victory Life Pentecostal Center in Oran, Mo.

Survivors include six sons, James Baker of Oran, Steve (Debbie) Baker of Chaffee, Roger (Linda) Baker of Jackson, Tenn., Mike (Tonya) Baker of Benton, Mo., Larry Baker of Chaffee and Doug (Devina) Baker of Lexington, Ky.; two daughters, Margaret Klipfel of Chaffee and Shirley (Sonny) Bledsoe of Sesser, Ill.; two brothers, Willie Baker of Puxico, Mo., and Billy Joe Baker of Sikeston, Mo.; two sisters, Hazel Grisswell of Sikeston and Deany Pennington of Puxico; 21 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; a great-great grandson; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by three sisters, a brother and a stepbrother.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Victory Life Pentecostal Center in Oran.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church, with the Rev. Brian Flanigan and the Rev. Larry Gammons officiating.

Burial will be at Union Park Cemetery in Chaffee.

Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee is in charge of arrangements.
