SCOTT CITY -- Willard E. Austin, 75, of Scott City died Wednesday, March 4, 1998, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born April 5, 1922, in McLain County, Ky., son of Embert and Marie Cobb Austin. He and Gladys Woosley were married Sept. 24, 1943, in Breman, Ky.
Austin retired as an engineer with Inland Oil. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Force.
Survivors include his wife; five daughters, Marcia Abney of Calhoun, Ky., Dora Austin of Hardinsburg, Ky., Connie Coomes of Aurora, Ill., Yolonna Davis of Pekin, Ill., Karen Holloway of Scott City; 15 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City after 5 p.m. Friday.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Rev. Randall Morse officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery.
