GRAND CHAIN, Ill. -- Willard A. "Dutch" Moore, 88, of Grand Chain died Saturday, May 10, 1997, at the Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah, Ky.
He was born March 19, 1909, in Grand Chain, son of Gibson and Kate Mellein Moore. He had served as Grand Chain mayor from 1967 to 1977 and had been an engineer with a construction company.
He was also a 50-year member of the Grand Chain Masonic Lodge 660, the Eastern Star Chapter 710 and of the Scottish Rites of Belleville, Ill.
He married Ruth Ablett on Feb. 28, 1931. She survives.
He is also survived by a daughter, Jeanette Jones of Pulaski; a son, Jerry Moore of Metropolis; four grandchildren; three step-grandsons; two great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.
A graveside funeral service will be 2 p.m. today at the Masonic Cemetery in Grand Chain, with the Rev. Bill McGhee officiating.
The Jones Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
