The son of Anna Roth and the late Joseph Roth of Frohna, Mo., he was married to Irene (nee Rehmer. Survivors include five children, Betty Drebes, Patricia Bibb, John, James and Mark Roth and sisters Leona King and Shirley Busche of Cape Girardeau. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond, Gilbert and Vernon of Cape. Visitation will be at Hoffmeister South County Chapel, 1515 LeMay Ferry Road, from 3:00 to 9:00 pm on Wednesday, September 30. Visitation prior to the funeral services will be from 9:30 until 10:30 am Thursday, October 1, 1998, at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 3415 Taft Ave., St. Louis.
