ALTENBURG -- Willa Mae Gerler, 70, of Altenburg, died Thursday, Dec. 26, 1991, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Feb. 13, 1921, in Grand Tower, Ill., the daughter of Louis and Hattie Smith Golden.
She married Walter Gerler on Aug. 10, 1937. He preceded her in death on July 5, 1980.
Survivors include: three sons, Richard Gerler of O'Fallon, Mo., Ralph Gerler of Mexico, Mo., and Ray Gerler of Altenburg; two daughters, Dorothy Osborn of O'Fallon and Mamie Schmidt of Frohna; two brothers, Rudy Golden of Cape Girardeau and Ralph Golden of Jackson; three sisters, Wanda Weibrecht of Crosstown, Mo., Winnie Stone of Millersville, and Wilma Nunn of Cape Girardeau; a half-sister, Corida Grosman of Dallas, Texas; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Four brothers preceded her in death.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Altenburg.
Visitation will be at Young and Sons East Perry Chapel in Altenburg from 6:30-11 a.m. today. The body will then be taken to the Immanuel Lutheran Church for a 1 p.m. service. The Rev. Paul Lohnes will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
