VILLA RIDGE, Ill. -- Willa Dean Bankson, 63, of Villa Ridge, died Thursday, Aug. 12, 1993, at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis.
She was born July 20, 1930, in Norman, Okla., daughter of Calvin Monroe and Sylvia Madlock Brown. She married Wayne Bankson, who died Nov. 27, 1987.
Bankson was a nutritionist with Pulaski/Alexander County Extension in Mounds. She was a member of Villa Ridge Union Church, and a 4-H leader 25 yers in Pulaski and Villa Ridge.
Survivors include a son, Johnny Bankson of Villa Ridge; four daughters, Eileen Buck of Des Arc, Ark., Kathleen and Sylvia Bankson of Villa Ridge, Abbie Bankson of Richmond, Va.; four stepdaughters, Pat Britton of Villa Ridge, Betty Beahan of Elmhurst, JoAnn Olenec of Oakbrook, Martha Ibikundle of Nigeria; five brothers, Arthur Brown of Newalla, Okla., Kenneth Brown of Parma, Mich., Lloyd and Eugene Brown of Lane, Okla., Gerald Brown of Cape Coral, Fla.; six sisters, Fran Bankson of East Cape, Nora Deason and Georgia Brown of Springer, Okla., Genie Brown of Spencer, Okla., Kay Latham and Roberta Washington of Oklahoma City, Okla.; six grandchildren; 16 stepgrandchildren, and 14 great-stepgrandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Jones Funeral Chapel in Villa Ridge. The Rev. Gerald Bethards will officiate, with burial in Liberty Cemetery near Pulaski.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today.
