DEXTER -- Wilford "Steve" Walk, 79, of Dexter, died Tuesday, March 12, 1996, at John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.
He was born Nov. 28, 1916, at McGee, son of Eddie and Etta McDaniel Walk. He and Claudine Reed were married Feb. 10, 1990, at McGee.
Walk was a mail carrier 27 years. He was a member of American Legion Post 281 and VFW Post 7551 at Piedmont, and Coon Hunters Club at Clearwater. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; six stepsons, Michael Reed of Calhoun, Ga., Kenneth Reed of Belleville, Ill., Phillip Reed of Troy, Ill., Delbert Reed of Doniphan, Keith Reed of Adairsville, Ga., Billy Reed of Paducah, Ky.; three stepdaughters, Linda Burnham of Collinsville, Ill., Sheryl Wicklund and Renee Pundsack of Doniphan; three brothers, Audrey and Edward Walk of Puxico, Avery Walk of McGee; four sisters, Beulah McAllister and Thelma Hinton of Flint, Mich., Mary Nickles of Advance, and Ruby Barnfield of Greenville.
He was preceded in death by a brother and stepson.
Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance from 4:30-8 p.m. Thursday.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Revs. LeRoy Hefner and Rudy Pittman officiating. Burial will be in New Hope McGee Cemetery at McGee.
