CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Funeral service for Wilford W. (Bill) Back, Cape Girardeau Route 1, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Centenary United Methodist Church. The Rev. Neil Stein will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday.
Back, 58 years old, died Sunday, Dec. 30, 1990, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born June 7, 1932, in Klemme, Iowa, son of Herman and Flora Kern Back. He and the former Charleen Brown were married July 20, 1957, in Cape.
Back received a degree in engineering from Iowa State University. He was president of Cape GMC Pontiac and vice president of B&W Transport 28 years, and president of Cape Rent-A-Car 16 years.
He was a charter member of Cape West Rotary Club, past president of Jaycees, member of Centenary Church and served on the church board, Chamber of Commerce, and served on Centerre Bank Board.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Kristy Mehner and Pamela Back of Cape, Kathy Back of Overland Park, Kan.; a brother, Lynford Back of Klemme; a sister, Marilyn Buseman of Belmond, Iowa, and a grandson, Austin Mehner of Cape.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Graydon Back.
