WILFORD BAIRD

CLARKTON -- Wilford Thomas Baird, 77, of Clarkton died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 1999, at Piggott Community Hospital in Piggott, Ark.

He was born March 10, 1922, at Clarkton, son of Walter Thomas and Lillian Waltrip Baird.

He married Lela White March 17, 1946, at Paragould, Ark. She survives.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of First Church of God at Piggott.

Survivors included a son, Wilford Dan Baird of Holcomb; a daughter, Leona Faye Horton of Clarkton; two sisters, Alice Ivena Walker of Goodrich, Mich., and Dorothy Dambach of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Van Baird of Waterford, Mich.; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.

Service will be held at 2 p.m. today a the Stanfield Missionary Baptist Church in Clarkton, with the Rev. Gene Madigan officiating. Burial will be in Stanfield Cemetery.

Bradshaw Funeral Home of Malden is in charge of arrangements.
