PERRYVILLE -- Wilena M. Hogard Long, 86, of Perryville died Friday, May 8, 1998, at Ste. Genevieve Memorial Hospital in Ste. Genevieve. She was born in Perry County Jan. 20, 1912, daughter of Leo and Mary Moore Elder. On Oct. 1, 1932, she married Paul Hogard. He died Oct. 6, 1966. She later married Curtis Long. He died Jan. 16, 1980...

PERRYVILLE -- Wilena M. Hogard Long, 86, of Perryville died Friday, May 8, 1998, at Ste. Genevieve Memorial Hospital in Ste. Genevieve.

She was born in Perry County Jan. 20, 1912, daughter of Leo and Mary Moore Elder. On Oct. 1, 1932, she married Paul Hogard. He died Oct. 6, 1966. She later married Curtis Long. He died Jan. 16, 1980.

She was a homemaker and member at St. Vincent de Paul Church, the Extension Club, Ladies Sodality and the St. Vincent High School Mothers Club. She served for 10 years as president of the S.M.A. Association.

She is survived by three daughters; Dorothy Huber of Ste. Genevieve, Mary Sifrig of Chesterfield and Carol Hogard of Minneapolis, Minn.; four sons, Leo Hogard of Egypt, David Hogard of Saudi Arabia, Larry Hogard of St. Mary and Richard Hogard of Ballwin; a sister, Ivalee Schindler of Perryville; 26 grandchildren; and 40 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, a sister, six brothers and a great-grandson.

Friends may call between 4 and 9 p.m. today and Monday from 6:30-8:30 a.m. at Young & Sons Funeral Home in Perryville. Parish wake will be held at 7 tonight, with the Rev. Felipe Martinez officiating.

Visitation will begin at Christ the Savior Church in Brewer at 9 a.m. Monday, followed by Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery.
