ANNA, Ill. -- Wilbur R. Emery, 81, of Anna died Sunday, May 14, 2000, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
He was born March 12, 1919, in Pomona, son of John and Dora Williams Emery. He and Ruth McCann were married May 18, 1946, in Jonesboro.
Emery was retired from farming and as custodian at Anna-Jonesboro High School.
He was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Janas Smith of Goreville, Karen Vaughn of Anna, Marilyn Randol of Morley, Mo.; a brother, John Emery of Marion; a sister, Connie Curry of Pineville, La.; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a stepgrandchild.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, three sisters and five brothers.
Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna after 5 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Greg Randol will officiate. Burial will be in Alto Pass Cemetery, with military honors by Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455.
