OLD APPLETON, Mo. — Wilbert W. Wichern, 75, of Old Appleton, died July 3, 2008, at home.

He was born July 10, 1932, in Uniontown, Mo., son of Henry and Martha Cornehlsen Wichern.

Wichern was a retired truck driver for Farmers Limestone. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Uniontown, a veteran of the U.S. Army and a past member of the American Legion.

Survivors include three sons, Randy Wichern of Altenburg, Mo., Bradley Wichern of Old Appleton, Brian Wichern of Clarksville, Tenn.; two daughters, Susan McConnell and Renee Emerson of Altenburg; and a brother, Melvin Wichern of Columbia, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and four sisters.

Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 6:30 to 8:15 a.m. Monday at Young and Sons Chapel in Perryville, Mo.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Grace Lutheran Church in Uniontown.

Burial will be in the church cemetery, with the Rev. Paul Winningham officiating. Military graveside rites will be provided by the Delta Team.
