PERRYVILLE - Wilbert V. Krieger, 73, of Perryville, died Saturday, July 23, at his home.
He was born Feb. 13, 1921, in Perry County, to Frederick "Fritz" and Mary Emmendorfer Krieger.
On April 18, 1947, he married Irene M. Blessing. She survives, of the home.
Other survivors include one son, Kenneth V. Krieger of St. Marys; eight daughters, Ida M. Krieger, Ula M. Krieger, and Velda J. Krieger, all of Perryville; Linda L. Renner, Angie M. Hurt, and Margie C. Nation, all of Jackson; Julie A. Motley and Doris Weibrecht, both of Cape Girardeau;
two brothers, Arnold Krieger of St. Ann, and Hubert Krieger of St. Charles. Fifteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive.
Krieger was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church of Perryville, a church usher and member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a veteran of World War Two, and a member of the American Legion, Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion.
Friends may call from 4-9 p.m., today, and from 6:30- 9:45 a.m., Monday, at Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville. Parish prayers will be recited at 7 p.m., today, at the funeral home.
The funeral mass will be held Monday, at 10 a.m., at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, with the Rev. Kevin Fausz officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery.
