PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Wilbert A. Ernst, 80, of Perryville died Sunday, Aug. 8, 2010, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Nov. 4, 1929, in Perry County, Mo., son of Anton D and Magdalina M. Kutz Ernst. He and Pauline Nobus were married Feb. 19, 1966. She preceded him in death Dec. 11, 1994.
Survivors include three sisters, Anna Marie Kajszo of St. Louis, Lillian Blandford of Perryville, Dorothy Moranville of Farmington, Ill.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; daughter; and a brother, Elmer L. Ernst.
Ernst was a retired farmer. He was a member of VFW Post 4282, American Legion Post 133, Knights of Columbus 3rd Degree, St. Mary's Catholic Church in Chester, Ill., and 50-year member of Bois Brule Levee District.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, and 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Young and Sons Funeral Home. The American Legion wake will be at 6:30 and parish wake at 7:30 Wednesday.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, with the Rev. Joe Williams officiating. Burial will be in Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cemetery at Belgique, Mo., with military rites provided by Missouri Delta Team.
Memorials are preferred to Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cemetery Association.
