COBDEN, Ill. -- Wilbert F. Brumleve, 71, of Cobden died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2001, at Union County Hospital in Anna, Ill.
He was born April 3, 1929, at Teutopolis, Ill., son of Leo and Margaret A. Basler Brumleve. He and Sue Thomas were married June 8, 1957, at Cobden.
Brumleve was retired from General Telephone Co., where he was a service technician 33 years. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus in Anna, and IBEW Local 702 in West Frankfort, Ill.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Patrick Brumleve of Cobden; a daughter, Christie Brumleve of Nashville, Tenn.; a sister, Rosemary Hearn of Makanda, Ill.; two brothers, Harold and Leo Brumleve of Cobden.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son.
Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Cobden from 5-8 p.m. today. The rosary will be recited at 7.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Church, with the Rev. Federico Higuera officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
