MARBLE HILL -- W.H. `Billy' Devenport, 87, of Marble Hill died Saturday, Aug. 27, 1994, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Feb. 13, 1907, at Bessville, the son of Jesse Leroy and Nora Octavia Moore Devenport.

He was a self-employed carpenter.

On Sept. 3, 1925, he married Norma E. Patton. She survives.

Other survivors include two daughters, Imogene Brown and Margie Cook, both of Marble Hill; two brothers, Rev. Odell Devenport of Marble Hill and Loy Devenport of Tuscon, Ariz.; a sister, Bessis Wright of Rector, Ark.; nine grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, a brother, a sister and a grandchild.

Friends may call after 3 p.m. today at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Hurricane Fork General Baptist Church near Marble Hill. The Rev. Jimmie Fulbright and the Rev. Steve Sander will officiate, and burial will be in the church cemetery.
