MILLERSVILLE -- Funeral service for Wesley Tidwell, Millersville Route 1, will be held at 2 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Chapel in Jackson. The Rev. Jerry Sander will officiate, with burial in Fairview Cemetery here.
Tidwell, 81, died Monday, April 19, 1993, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born May 16, 1911, near Union City, Tenn., son of Noke and Ethel Ledbetter Tidwell. He and Ella Uhl were married July 11, 1943.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Rick Tidwell of Millersville, Dale Tidwell of Fredericktown; five sisters, Naomi Bryant of Plymouth, Mich., Alean Hagans of Union City, Tenn., Mamie Kindell of Fulton, Tenn., Thelma Edelman and Henrietta Tidwell of Poplar Bluff; two brothers, George Tidwell of Poplar Bluff, W.T. Tidwell of Los Angeles, Calif.; four grandchildren and two great-grandsons.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, a sister and grandson.
Tidwell worked at Coca-Cola Bottling in Poplar Bluff, 7-Up Bottling in St. Louis, and Mercantile Bank and Federal Pacific Electric in St. Louis. He retired in 1970.
He had been living at Millersville the past 10 years, and was a member of Gospel Assembly Church in St. Louis.
