JACKSON, Mo. Weldon Williams, 82, of Jackson passed away Saturday, May 12, 2001, at Jackson Manor.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, followed by interment in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson. Dr. Brian Anderson will officiate.
Mr. Williams was born Nov. 26, 1918, at Crump, Mo., son of Oliver Monroe and Helen Huffman Williams. He and Dorothy Barks were married Sept. 19, 1942, at Crump. She preceded him in death Aug. 21, 1999.
Mr. Williams was a self-employed painter and did subcontracting for various construction companies in the Jackson area. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Jackson, where he served as an usher and greeter.
Loving survivors include a son, Larry Williams of Jackson; a granddaughter, Michelle "Shelly" Jorn and husband Chris; a great-grandson, Kyle Jorn; a great-granddaughter, Katie Jorn, all of Derby, Kan.; a brother, Audrey "Toots" Williams of Jackson; two stepbrothers and two stepsisters.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and a stepbrother.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to First Baptist Church.
