MALDEN, Mo. -- Webster L. Rowe, 72, of Malden died Thursday, Feb. 22, 2001, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born April 24, 1928, at Zalma, Mo., son of Carl and Alfaretta Staats Rowe. He and Dixie Thomas were married Dec. 29, 1946, in Piggott, Ark.

Rowe owned and operated Rowe Ford in Malden for more than 24 years.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Malden, was a 32nd degree Mason of Four Mile Masonic Lodge 212 AF&AM, Scottish Rite of Free Masonry and Moolah Shriners in St. Louis. He was a past master of Zalma Masonic Lodge 409, and past worthy patron of Carnation Chapter 141 in Malden.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Melanie Crain of Malden, Robin Davis of Cape Girardeau; four sisters, Odean Grindstaff of Puxico, Mo., Shirley McKee of Arab, Mo., Mary Gaither of Warrenton, Mo., Lillie Smith of Belleville, Ill.; two grandsons; and a great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call at Landess Funeral Home in Malden from 5 to 8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dwight Chapman officiating. Burial will be in Bollinger County Memorial Park at Marble Hill, Mo.
