RISCO -- Funeral service for W.D. Blaylock of Risco will be held at 2 p.m. today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Chapel in Parma, with the Rev. Gene Lancaster officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery at Malden.
Blaylock, 90, died Saturday, April 13, 1996, at Malden Nursing Center.
He was born Dec. 24, 1905, in Calhoun City, Miss., son of William and Lelia Hickey Blaylock. He and Alta Loraine Ward were married Dec. 24, 1927. She died May 22, 1981. He and Beulah Sifford were married March 23, 1982.
Formerly of Bernie, he had resided near Risco 40 years. He was a retired farmer, and member of First Baptist Church at Risco.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Jack Blaylock of Essex; a daughter, Frances West of Shelbyville, Tenn.; two brothers, Preston Blaylock of Calhoun City, Walter Blaylock of Bruce, Miss.; a sister, Gladys Sims of Calhoun City; six stepchildren; eight grandchildren, including Danny Blaylock of Malden who was raised in the home; seven great-grandchildren, and several stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sons and a granddaughter.
