MORLEY, Mo. -- Wayne Perkins, 66, of Morley passed away Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, surrounded by his children and a brother, John.
He was born July 17, 1947, in Blytheville, Ark., to the late John William and Sada Marie Booth Perkins.
Wayne was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served in the Vietnam War as an aircraft mechanic on the USS Enterprise.
He was a member of Morley VFW Post 5368. He was an excellent carpenter and enjoyed woodworking of all types.
Survivors include three sons, Mark (Michelle) of Chaffee, Mo., Chris (Jennifer) of Cooter, Mo., and Ryan (Jessica) of Blytheville; two brothers, Denver (Mary) of St. Louis and John (Vickie) of Mobile, Ala.; a sister, Alice (Harold) Nichols of Oklahoma City; six grandsons, Zachary, Jacob, Luke, Christian, Chase and Blaine; and numerous nephews and nieces.
A memorial service will be in the spring at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, with full military honors presented by Missouri Honor Guard.
