Wayne Koenig

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Wayne D. Koenig, 67, of Perryville died Monday, Sept. 19, 2016, at his home.

He was born April 9, 1949, in St. Louis, son of Earl T. and Leola C. Kahmke Koenig. He and JoAnn Ochs were married Aug. 25, 1973. She survives in Perryville.

Wayne was a manager at Auto Tire & Parts in Perryville. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was also a member of the Perryville Fire Department for 20 years.

Other survivors include a daughter and a son, Brandie (Jeremy) Mantz and Jeffrey Koenig, all of Perryville; and a granddaughter, Blaise.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 7:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, with the Rev. Thomas Handrick officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery, with military graveside rites provided by American Legion Post 133 and the Navy Honors Team.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Immanuel Lutheran School Tuition or Cemetery Fund or Serenity Hospice.
