ALTON, Ill. -- Wayne Harper, 77, of Fairfield, Ill. and formerly of Alton died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 1992, at the VA Medical Center in Marion, Ill. ALTON, Ill. -- Wayne Harper, 77, of Fairfield, Ill. and formerly of Alton died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 1992, at the VA Medical Center in Marion, Ill.

He was born Dec. 28, 1914, at Cottonwood, Ill., the son of Elmer and Flora Norman Harper.

Survivors include his wife, Alene Bishop of Fairfield and formerly of Dongola, Ill. and a brother, Lee Harper of Fairfield.

Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Johnson Funeral Home in Fairfield and from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Elias-Smith Funeral Home in Alton, where Masonic services will be at 7 p.m. Friday.

Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Alton.
