Wayne Harvey McDowell, 69, of Lathrop, died Sunday, June 14, 1992, at Lathrop Health Facility.
He was born Oct. 17, 1922, in Romance, Ark., son of H.J. and Eula Barnett McDowell. He and Lillian Steinhoff were married May 5, 1946.
While in Cape Girardeau he was a member of First Baptist Church, and was a reserve officer with Cape Girardeau Police Department.
McDowell was in the trucking business and the family moved to Tulsa, Okla. He was a member and deacon of Sheridan Road Baptist Church, and did volunteer work at the House of Hope.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Marcia Stolling of Polo; his mother, Eula McDowell; two sisters, Oneita McClary and Aleta Crawford, all of Cape Girardeau, and a granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his father and an infant grandson.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bailey Funeral Home in Polo, with burial in a cemetery there.
