Wayne Harold Evans, 48, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Dec. 7, 2008, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. He was born Nov. 10, 1960, in Cape Girardeau, son of Eugene and Irma Crowe Evans. Evans was a self-employed auto diesel mechanic. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Rhodes of Cape Girardeau; two sons, Justin and Tyler Evans of Belleville, Ill.; two daughters, Alexis Evans of Cape Girardeau, Lindsey Hale of Jackson; three brothers, Arnold Evans of California, Ricky Evans of Jefferson City, Mo., David Evans of Potosi, Mo.; a sister, Jackie Evans of Cape Girardeau; and seven grandchildren.. ...

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Cornerstone Wesleyan Church in Scott City.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, with the Rev. Rennie Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery in Scott City.

Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City is in charge of arrangements.
