Wayne Arden Hopper, 54, of 1520 N. West End Boulevard died Sunday, Feb. 23, 1992, at his home.
He was born June 12, 1937, in Cape Girardeau, the son of Howard William and Ruby Fowler Hopper. His mother, Ruby Ellis, survives of Chafee.
On May 1, 1971, he married Marilyn Lou Yarbro in Jackson. She survives of the home.
He worked for Lone Star Industrites for 29 years and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He also was a member of the Elks Lodge #639, Eagles Aerie #3775, the Travelers Protection Agency, and the First Christian Church of Chaffee.
Other survivors include three step-sons, Jimmie Heavener of Cape Girardeau and Charles Heavener Jr. and Gary Heavener, both of North Carolina; a daughter, Belinda Kay Hopper of the home; a sister, Karen Valle of St. Louis; and four grandchildren.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau, where there will be an Elks service at 7 p.m. Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. Lloyd W. Allen officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
