DONGOLA, Ill. -- Warren E. Hoffner, 90, of St. Louis, Mo., died Thursday, April 6, 2000, at St. Luke's Hospital in Chesterfield, Mo.
He was born June 26, 1909, in Dongola, son of Ezzard and Margaret Earnhart Hoffner. He and Beatrice Hill were married June 2, 1928.
Hoffner was a supervisor with Monsanto Chemical Co. 40 years.
He was a member of Union Avenue Christian Church in St. Louis and attended Marvin Park United Methodist Church in St. Louis County.
Hoffner was a member and still active in Bridgeton Lodge 80 AF&AM, Independent Order of Odd Fellows, and a life member of High 12 Club 58 at St. John, Mo.
He was a graduate of Dongola High School and captain of the basketball team.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Warren Hoffner of Daytona Beach, Fla.; a sister, Mimie Wilkeson of Canton, Ohio; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Dongola after 10 a.m. Saturday.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dare Aden officiating. Burial will be in American Legion Cemetery.
