ZALMA -- Warren Cooper, 84, of Star City, Ark., died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 1997, at Star City Nursing Center.

He was born Dec. 31, 1912, at Dongola, Mo., son of Fulton and Tula Harrell Cooper. He and Dora Fisher were married July 18, 1936. She died June 8, 1997.

Formerly of Zalma, Cooper was a member of Point Pleasant General Baptist Church near Marble Hill. In recent years he attended the Church of Star City.

Survivors include four sons, Warren Cooper Jr. of Dixon, Douglas Cooper of Star City, Dannis Cooper of Abilene, Texas, David Cooper of Jacksonville, Fla.; a brother, Cline Cooper of St. Louis; four sisters, Hazel Schlosser of Chaffee, Thelma Myers of Ste. Genevieve, Ina Williams and Iona McChutheon of St. Louis; and 12 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers.

Friends may call at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill from 4-8 p.m. Friday.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. John Fuqua, the Rev. Eugene Gibson, the Rev. Bobby Robbins, and Douglas Cooper officiating. Burial will be in Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery near Marble Hill.
