WILSON CITY, Mo. -- Wardell "Poddie" Coleman, 60, of Wilson City died Monday, Aug. 18, 2003, at his home.
He was born Oct. 23, 1942, at Wyatt, Mo., son of Helen Douglas and Mansfield Coleman Sr. He and Dorothy Treadwell were married Aug. 16, 1965.
Coleman was employed at Rafferty Hunter Farms.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Wardell and Lee Coleman of Cape Girardeau; five daughters, Teresa Black and Melissa Taylor of Cape Girardeau, Denise Henderson of Fort Campbell, Ky., Judy Lyons of Bloomington, Ill., Diane Durby of De Ridder, La.; and his mother of Charleston, Mo.
Also surviving are four brothers, Richard Douglas Jr. of Wilson City, Mansfield, Sylvester and Clifford Coleman, all of Indianapolis, Ind.; two sisters, Loveylee and Bernadine Coleman of Indianapolis; and 15 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father and a brother.
Friends may call at Faith Temple Church of God in Christ in Wyatt after 11 a.m. Saturday.
The funeral will be at noon Saturday at the church, with Elder L.D. Pulliam officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Sparks Funeral Home in Charleston is in charge of arrangements.
