GRAND CHAIN, Ill. -- Funeral service for Ward E. Walshon of Grand Chain will be held at 1 p.m. today at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Olmsted, with Pastor Steven Rasmussen officiating. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens at Villa Ridge.
Barkett Funeral Home in Mounds is in charge of arrangements.
Walshon, 44, died Monday, Oct. 31, 1994, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was the son of Ed and Lorraine Weile Walshon.
Walshon received his juris doctorate degree from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale.
He maintained a private law practice in Mounds; was a former Pulaski County States Attorney from 1984-92, assistant states attorney in Johnson County from 1982-84, was a former deputy sheriff in Union County, was city attorney for Mounds and Pulaski, and had been Alexander County public defender.
Walshon was a member of Illinois Bar Association, St. Luke Lutheran Church, and Anna Elks Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Celeste; a son, Elliott Walshon of Grand Chain; his mother of Santa Barbara, Calif.; two brothers, Neal Walshon of Santa Barbara, and Scott Walshon of Santa Maria, Calif.
