Wanda Wilfong, 85, of Burfordville passed away Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2020, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Feb. 20, 1935, in Burfordville, daughter of Richard H. and Ada Jones Bowers. She was raised by and later adopted by Joe and Opal Brown Hahn. She and Lester "June" Wilfong were married Sept. 9, 1956. He passed away Feb. 2, 2008.
Wanda was a graduate of Jackson High School. She worked at the former Kroger Egg Plant, Lenco and as a beauty operator for many years. Wanda was a member of First Baptist Church in Jackson, where she and June taught second-grade Sunday school for 21 years.
Loving survivors include nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years; her biological parents; her adoptive parents; a sister, Ruth Bowers Nitsch; a brother, Richard E. "Sonny" Bowers; and a half-brother, Ronnie Bowers.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
Funeral service will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Randy Riley officiating. Interment will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to First Baptist Church in Jackson.
