Wanda C. Vanderpool, 81, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Jan. 5, 2001, at her home.
She was born Oct. 25, 1919, at Bushyhead, Okla., daughter of B.S. Culley and Bessie Drake Culley.
She and Merle Vanderpool were married Feb. 13, 1944 at the First Christian Church in Oklahoma City.
She was a member of the First Christian Church of Cape Girardeau and was a a Headstart teacher.
Survivors include the husband; a son, Owen Vanderpool of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Sheryl Schmitt of Cape Girardeau; a brother, David Culley of Sand Springs, Okla.; a sister, Thelma Richardson of Broken Arrow, Okla.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, two sisters and a grandchild.
Friends may call today from 4:30-7 p.m. today at Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Phillip N. Curran officiating. Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery at Cape Girardeau.
