Wanda J. King, 70, of Cape Girardeau passed away Thursday, June 18, 2015, at her home. She was born July 7, 1944, in Chaffee, Missouri, daughter of John W. and Grace P. Vaughn McLemore. Wanda J. King, 70, of Cape Girardeau passed away Thursday, June 18, 2015, at her home.

She was born July 7, 1944, in Chaffee, Missouri, daughter of John W. and Grace P. Vaughn McLemore. She married Leo King, who survives.

Wanda was employed by Ralph Edwards in Cape Girardeau for 25 years and volunteered at Mid-America Teen Challenge for many years.

Loving survivors include her husband; two children, Tammy (David) Dabbs of Jackson and Shawn (Tara) King of Cape Girardeau; three stepchildren, Steve (Debbie) King of Gordonville, Debbie (Paul) Schrock and Karen (Quintin) Gaither, both of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Donald (Erna) McLemore of Jackson; a sister, Shirley (Bill) Vance of Advance, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Darlene McLemore of Jackson; a dear cousin, Bill (Jenny) Brawley; six grandchildren; eight stepgrandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and five great-stepgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Charles (Kathryn) McLemore and Robert McLemore; two sisters, Bessie (Everett) Kynion and Betty (Lloyd) Green; and her best friend, Rose Hawk.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. John Dehne officiating. Interment will be in Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to St. Andrew Lutheran Church, Cape Girardeau.
