BELL CITY, Mo. -- Wanda Maxine Daniel, 81, of Bell City died Monday, Dec. 16, 2019, at Chaffee Nursing Center in Chaffee, Missouri.

She was born Oct. 12, 1938, in Bell City to the late Elmer and Doris Miller Hoosier. She spent most of her life alongside her husband farming.

In 1989, she graduated from the licensed practical nurse program in Sikeston, Missouri. She spent the remainder of her life as a charge nurse, until retiring at Miner Nursing Home in Miner, Missouri, in 2013.

She enjoyed and loved her family; she enjoyed cooking and gardening. She was a member of Hooe Baptist Church.

Wanda was an excellent cook and took great pride and satisfaction in cooking and entertaining others. She gardened diligently, canned and preserved the garden's bounty and fruits of her labors. She took immense pride in her grandchildren. She never met a stranger and accepted people for who and what they were.

She leaves behind a son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Phyllis Daniel of Bell City; daughter and son-in-law, Diane and David Smith of Puxico, Missouri; granddaughters and grandson-in-law, Danielle and Blake Worthy of Puxico and Cynthia (Justin Engram) Smith of Puxico; grandson, Lucas Daniel of Bell City; great-granddaughters, Andrea Clark, Audrie Clark, Darcie Turner and Kynley Worthy, all of Puxico; brother, James "Jim" Hoosier of Ridgefarm, Illinois; sister-in-law, Susy Hoosier of Bloomfield, Missouri; and her dear friend, Darrell Eaves.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, a sister and a sister-in-law.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon today at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance, Missouri.

Funeral will be at noon today at the funeral home, with the Rev. Don Jolliff officiating. Burial will follow at Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.
